Working of a Mixer Grinder
Ever thought about how we get different shakes and smoothies, or the hot and spicy chutneys we eat with out beloved dosa/idli, or how your moms make the the magic masalas which adds flavor to the most boring of foods! If no, don't worry, we will get there together:).
Think of a mixer grinder as a magic black box (actually, every machine is a magic black box). You add milk and fruits, you get smoothies and shakes. You add different spices and you get an homogeneous spice of them all. Basically, you get a analogous mixture of all the ingredients which you initially put in the mixer grinder.
This is how the process goes:
- When you start the mixer grinder, the motor (converter of electrical to mechanical energy) begins to turn the blades. To further elaborate, a coil is placed between magnetic
field. When, a current runs in the coil, the coil experiences a
magnetic force which causes the motor to rotate, which cause the rotation of blades.
- The fast spinning and swirling of the blades sets the food into a circular motion.
- This fast circular motion forces them up on the sides by creating a vacuum (void of air) at the center.
- This fast centrifugal motion (rotation of blades and heavy pushing of contents towards the sides) helps in mixing the ingredients smoothly, homogeneously and consistently.
In short summary: Electricity -> mechanical energy (which we can see in the rotation of blades) -> swirling and pushing of contents towards the wall, breaking them into smaller fragments -> smoothies/shakes/chutneys etc.
Hope you got to know how to process in the background goes!
